ESF Europe brings together leaders from the refining and chemical industries to advance discussions on their critical role in the global energy transition and in shaping a competitive, sustainable, and secure industrial future - one in which Europe's downstream industries not only survive but thrive!
Europe's refining and chemicals industries are central to the energy transition, yet face growing competitive pressures. While decarbonisation remains the right objective, it must not come at the expense of industrial strength. Europe needs an industrial strategy that couples climate ambition with competitiveness, enabling investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.
From 23-25 February 2027, industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators will gather in Amsterdam to address these challenges. Home to one of Europe's largest energy and chemicals hubs, the Netherlands provides the ideal setting for the sector to unite around strengthening competitiveness, revitalising operations, and accelerating investment in innovation and sustainability.
