The automotive industry gradually moves towards the development of intelligent vehicles and adopts various photonics technologies such as LED /Laser/OLED lighting, optical lens, CMOS / CCD image sensor, IR Laser/LED, LCD / OLED displays, and so on. These automotive photonics technologies help to push vehicle designs to another level. For example, by combining adaptive front-lighting system (AFS) and versatile LED / Laser light sources into headlight designs, light patterns of headlights and cornering lights can be adaptively adjusted to light up every corner in the driving path. Besides, using infrared sensor to control the high beam can avoid causing glare to the driver in the opposite lane and to enhance walkway lighting. The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), Intelligent Transport System (ITS), head-up display (HUD) can use car imaging technologies extensively to improve driving safety from every perspective.
