ubberCon 2014 is to be hosted in the historic home to the global rubber industry - Manchester - the location where Thomas Hancock and Charles Macintosh first built their joint factory to produce waterproof clothing in 1825.
Hancock, and Manchester, can lay claim to the first patent of vulcanisation in the world as well as being the home of the invention of the internal mixer. As a result Manchester's association with the origins of the rubber industry is assured and RubberCon 2014 aims to reflect that legacy by addressing the topics, needs and aspirations of the rubber industry in the future.
