China's demand for wine has grown at an exponential rate over the past decade. Today, China is the 9th largest wine market by volume. In the first 5 months of 2008 China imported 84.89 million litres of wine, an increase of 10.3% y-o-y and in values terms China's wine market increased to US$310million, up a massive 49.1% y-o-y. The value of China's wine imports is expected to reach US$870million by 2017.
