Since its launch in 1962 as the Northern Floor Coverings Fair, the Harrogate event has proved to be extremely durable, outlasting a number of rival events staged in venues as diverse as Blackpool, Brighton, Earls Court and Birmingham. But how things have changed! Very few of the 37 exhibitors who appeared at the 1962 event still flourish - one notable exception being Cormar. Back then, exhibitors took orders on their stands and their main measure of show success was how many rolls of carpet they'd sold.
About the Flooring Show: held for the 51st time at its traditional home in Harrogate, The Flooring Show 2013 featured around 120 exhibiting brands from 12 countries over 3,000 m2 net floor space. Some 2,300 trade visitors attended the event, from 17 countries, including over 1,300 retailers and distributors.'
Once again attendance at all elements of the 2014 show will be free of charge; the exhibition, retail and commercial seminar programmes, demonstration programme, car parking and even wi-fi access!
