After two decades of energy transition without nuclear power, electricity prices and emissions are far too high. But we can radically improve both by bringing back nine nuclear power plants now.
Turning on nuclear power plants - is that really possible?
After a thorough analysis, industry experts, including the KernD association and the strategy consultancy Radiant Energy, are convinced: It's possible. The Brokdorf, Emsland, and Grohnde plants could be back to generating electricity within one to four years, respectively. Six additional plants would be operational again within six to eight years. This is technically feasible, and cheaper and faster than building a new one.
