Mondial de La Bière was founded in 1994 in Montreal, Canada. Over the years, and under the governance of Jeannine Marois, President and Co-Founder of the festival, and with the help of her team, theevent has become the largest festival of international beers in North America, with a reputation that has traveled to many countries. A highly successful version of the festival is the Mondial de La Bière Europe, born in 2009. After three years in Strasbourg, the organizers announced that the fourth edition will be held in September inMulhouse, France.
It's an unique festival of beer tasting. It represents the stepping-stone for various foreign breweries. In the last edition, held in June 2012, it attracted more than 100,000 people, 637 types of beer and about 200 microbreweries. In addition, the festival provides visitors with an extensive educational offer, with events such as The Public Beer Contest, The Cheese and Beer Workshop.
For the first time in Rio de Janeiro, the event is expected to become the most prominent international beer festival. With a successful track record in several foreign countries, the Mondial de La Bière aims to restore the noble status of beer, providing local and foreign visitors with an opportunity to taste a wide variety of quality beers, while emphasizing the importance of responsible consumption.
