E&L Europe spent a lot of time exploring various approaches and methods for risk assessment and mitigations within leachables investigations and documentation. From many of the scientific, regulatory and toxicological speakers the take-away was that a lot of the time things must be assessed on a case-by-case basis and, although there is developing guidance from various working groups, when faced with a lot of examples, the right choice so often is that "it depends" and that each company needs to make rationales for their investigation and documentation package.
