54th annual Conference of Metallurgists (COM 2015) will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, August 23-26th, 2015. The theme of the conference is "Sustainability in Metals and Materials Processing and Use". A unique aspect of this conference will be a special symposium held to honor women who have made substantial contributions to the Canadian metallurgical, materials and mining industry.
The annual COM's main purpose is to provide a forum for sharing knowledge and COM 2015 will have three honorary symposia dedicated to people who have made substantial contributions to our field. Two of the honorary symposia celebrate the academic and research achievements of Professor Torstein Utigard (University of Toronto) and Professor David Wilkinson (McMaster University) and the third symposium, named after Lucy Rosato who was an industrial leader will explore issues of sustainability in the hydrometallurgy field. The poster session and expanded trade show will also provide an opportunity for delegates to have technical interaction with other attendees and many of our undergraduate and graduate students who will attend the conference.
