The 2nd annual Ghana Oil & Gas Summit (Conference & Exhibition) was held at the Accra International Conference centre on 27-29 March 2011. With close to 100 exhibitor companies, 2000 visitors and over 400 delegates, the Summit was once again a leading platform for governments, national and international oil companies as well as regional experts to announce their future plans, discuss current developments, launch new projects and cement international collaborations. As well as the 2 day Strategic Conference, Willy Olsen lead the Local Content Workshop and we also launched a full day dedicated to technical sessions which were very well received.
High level delegations from GNPC, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, Attorney General's Department (Ghana), Tullow Oil, The National Gas Company of Trinidad and all the major operators were present and delivered presentations.
The Summit had full support from the H.E. John Dramani Mahama , the Vice President of Ghana, GNPC, The Ministry of Energy, National Petroleum Authority, Volta River Authority and The Ghana Chamber of Mines.
The Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Mariti of Norway included the Summit in their Royal visit of Ghana and the Crown Prince and the Norwegian Minister of Environment both delivered timely presentations to a delighted audience.
Due to the success of the 2011 conference and in response to a high demand, the Ghana Summit has been expanded to include an international exhibition. The 2012 Conference & Exhibition guarantees to attract all the major decision makers in Ghana, and internationally.
Ghana has the potential to become a major oil producer - its oil reserves are significantly bigger than initially estimated. The Jubilee field was the biggest offshore oilfield discovered off the West African coast for over 10 years.
Ghana is recognised as one of the most promising exploration regions.
Ghana Summit combines a world class conference with an exciting exhibition showcasing the latest developments. This unique event attracts senior decision makers, enabling you to make crucial contacts within the industry.
