North West Africa is an underexplored margin with very few deepwater wells, however there is increasing global industry interest in the MSGBC Basin, following Cairn's SNE-1 discovery offshore Senegal, recognised as the largest global oil discovery in 2014. Subsequently, Kosmos Energy hit gas while drilling offshore Mauritania resulting in a "significant, play-opening gas discovery".
The Summit and Exhibition will be supporting Senegal and other resource holders in the region in promoting the resource potential of the basin and enable collaboration between the public and private sector.
The Summit will provide a platform for Senegalese and regional decision makers to engage with international investors to showcase the abundant opportunities available in the MSGBC Basin.
