This symposium will create a new opportunity to develop cooperation between the International Atherosclerosis Society and the Russian Society of Cardiology. We are facing mutual global cardiovascular challenges and have to work out new effective solutions.'The voices of our societies are of exceptional importance in this respect.
An exchange of ideas and practical collaboration in cardiology, as well in healthcare management and social activities seem to be a good basis for future achievements. We have achieved a high level of mutual understanding which I hope will lead to further progress in decrease of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
