The 33rd Topical Meeting aims to bring together researchers working in the field of surface modification, electrocatalysis and bioelectrochemistry involving both fundamental and applied research on water splitting and green hydrogen production, fuel cells, biofuel cells and metal-air batteries.
Scientists working in electrochemistry can solve major problems in the field of sustainable energy conversion and storage, water remediation, molecule sensing. Therefore the need to transform surfaces into active electocatalysts with the help of molecules that can facilitate the electron transfer from a reactant to a product has applications in several areas of electrochemistry. Structure-reactivity relationships and reactivity descriptors are needed for the rational design of catalytic surfaces.
