Concurrent Expo: Mining Mongolia 2012 - the International Mining & Minerals Recovery Exhibition | |
The show addresses the urgent need to build infrastructure to access mines and transport minerals to neighbouring markets. The Oyu Tolgoi mine has a total project investment of US$ 4 billion, including plant and infrastructure to support the initial throughput of 100,000 tonnes of ore per day, electric generator plants, a permanent domestic airport, road and rail links. While the government has plans to build over 2,500 kms of paved roads and 5,500 kms of new railway an investment of US$5 billion is required between now and 2020.
Growth in the Mongolian economy, driven by rising mineral related development, is expected to benefit the broader construction and building sectors.
Building & Construction Mongolia 2012, is organised with the support of Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Construction; Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and The Business Council of Mongolia.
