On behalf of the International Association of Elevator Engineers (IAEE), the Steering Committee would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended ELEVCON 2025, held in beautiful Lisbon from June 17-19. Your presence and contributions made the 24th edition of our congress truly memorable.
Over three dynamic days, the congress featured in-depth presentations and panel discussions on:
Energy-saving technologies, smart dispatching systems, and elevator efficiency;
Planning standards, with a special focus on ISO 8100-32;
Sustainability and the circular economy, including ISO 59000 and the role of IoT and AI in extending elevator lifecycles;
Rope behavior and predictive maintenance, with cutting-edge research on wire fatigue, magnetic testing, and advanced materials;
Installation quality and safety, with innovations in smart asset management, digital door twins, and AI-powered maintenance tools.
The IAEE General Assembly also convened during the congress, where a revised constitution was adopted and Dr. Richard Peters was welcomed to the Executive Board.
