Japan Robot Week, which is held on alternate year with iREX exhibition, especially is focusing on service robots and related technologies/components all together.
Service robot, such as nursing robot and life support robot, and disaster response robot has great potential as a new industry in the 21th century.
In Japan, which is seriously facing aging society, government is taking big efforts to development and installation of supporting robot to advance senior's self-reliance and remove burdens of care givers, and it's market is rapidly increasing. On the other hand, several kinds of disaster robot and maintenance robot for social infrastructure are also progressing day by day.
