ACI's Future of RNG North America 2027, taking place on 7th & 8th April 2027 in Houston, Texas, will examine how the industry can unlock credible demand, secure bankable offtake and rebuild project economics.
As the North American RNG market enters a more demanding commercial phase, production growth alone is no longer enough. Producers and developers must connect supply with buyers willing to make long-term commitments, while navigating environmental-credit uncertainty, tighter margins, financing constraints and changing market requirements.
Building on the discussions at Future of RNG North America 2026, which brought together participants from 50 organisations, the 2027 programme moves the demand question centre stage. Sessions will examine municipal and utility procurement, industrial and commercial decarbonisation, and cross-border offtake, alongside emerging opportunities in maritime fuels, data centres and higher-value conversion pathways. The emphasis will be on distinguishing credible opportunities from untested demand narratives and understanding what buyers need before entering workable contracts.
A major focus will be on turning heavy-duty fleet potential into sustained RNG demand. Dedicated discussions will connect engine performance and real operating experience with vehicle costs, environmental-credit value and fleet procurement decisions. The programme will also examine how fuel suppliers, truck-stop operators and infrastructure developers can build dependable refuelling corridors around committed demand, bringing the vehicle, fuel, station and commercial proposition together.
Alongside market development, the conference will explore what makes RNG projects investable and resilient. Sessions will address funding gaps before final investment decisions, stronger waste and feedstock partnerships, distributed digestion, systematic cost reduction, and additional revenue from digestate and biogenic CO?. Policy and carbon-accounting discussions will examine how certification, attribute tracking and book-and-claim requirements affect corporate procurement and international market access.
Bringing together RNG producers and developers, utilities, waste and feedstock owners, fleet operators, fuel suppliers, traders, technology providers, infrastructure developers, banks, investors and policymakers, Future of RNG North America 2027 connects those producing, buying, supplying and financing renewable natural gas. Across two days of practical discussion, case studies and senior-level networking, the conference will provide a focused forum to test new demand opportunities, build stronger commercial partnerships and turn evolving markets into bankable projects and long-term offtake.
