The WCIT is a signature event of the World Information Technology & Services Alliances (WITSA) - a consortium of leading information and communication technology associations of the world. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is one of the most important and prestigious ICT events in the world.
Organized since 1978, the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is unique in its global perspective on ICT issues and its ability to draw users, providers, media, and academia from around the world. Global business, government, and academic leaders discuss emerging markets, legal and policy issues, political and economic trends, emerging technologies, ICT user perspectives, and business opportunities in the global marketplace. WITSA is present in 85 countries, with the inclusion of members representing 90% of the ICT industry around the globe.
Bangladesh is the host of the World Congress on Information Technology 2021 (WCIT 2021), to be held on November 11-14, 2021. The theme of the 25th WCIT is "ICT - The Great Equalizer."
