The second annual Offset Symposium is a new, innovative forum for the defense community and the high-technology sector. The symposium is dedicated to advancing the work of rebuilding the ties that bind innovative technology clusters such as Silicon Valley and the national security community by leveraging the venture capital (VC) ecosystem. Specifically, the forum will connect VCs and the technologists they invest in to explore dual-use applicability to address today's pressing national security missions. One goal is to strengthen the connection between government-sponsored innovation from organizations such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; the military services' labs; government intellectual property; and the venture ecosystem, including incubators, accelerators, angel investors and entrepreneurs to determine commercial uses.
