IMAC continues to evolve as the premier conference and exposition on structural dynamics, encompassing not only modal analysis but also nonlinear dynamics, civil structures, data science, uncertainty quantification, and a broad range of emerging technologies across engineering disciplines.
For our 2027 conference in Kissimmee, Florida, we highlight the theme: "Teaching Structures to Educate Us: Learning Dynamics from Experiments."
This theme emphasizes a powerful idea: structures can teach us - if we design experiments that allow them to speak. From structural health monitoring, where vibration and acoustic signatures reveal damage, to nonlinear dynamics studies uncovering previously unknown physical and mathematical behavior, experiments are not just tools for validation - they are engines of discovery.
Across areas such as frictional interfaces, metamaterials, biomaterials, and additively manufactured systems, researchers are increasingly using experiments to uncover the unexpected. These insights are shaping how we model, predict, and ultimately design structural systems.
At the same time, IMAC remains deeply committed to the full spectrum of structural dynamics research. Carefully executed experiments that confirm the safety of a structure or validate models continue to be essential to the field and remain a cornerstone of the conference.
The conference will feature the full array of outstanding technical sessions across a wide range of topics, as outlined in the call for papers and individual track descriptions at sem.org/imac. We encourage submissions from all areas relevant to the IMAC community.
We look forward to your participation and contributions, which continue to keep IMAC vibrant, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the structural dynamics community.
