Happy birthday: 12,108 trade visitors and 339 exhibitors celebrated the 15th elcom Ukraine.
Exports of electro-technology to Ukraine is again on the upswing.
Trade visitors, exhibitors and the organisers jointly celebrated the 15th anniversary of elcom Ukraine on the evening of the first exhibition day, April 12, 2011 with a huge party for 400 guests and VIP's.
Live-bands, musicians of various kinds, dancers and comedians - they all contributed to an unforgettable evening. Exhibitors who had participated 15 times, 14 times and 13 times since the very first elcom in 1997 were decorated. A fancy cake was handed over to the director of OBO Bettermann Ukraine celebrating the 100th anniversary of the company. And last but not least exhibitors danced the night away.
After four days, exhibitors of elcomUkraine 2011 were very satisfied with the number and the quality of the trade visitors, the positive outlook on future business and the event's overall organisation. Asked, whether or not the exhibitors would recommend elcomUkraine to their peers, the answer was a clear "yes".
With 12,108 registered trade visitors (+11.6% compared to 2010) and 339 exhibitors'from 13 countries (+19.8%), elcomUkraine 2011 has achieved a considerable growth.
Organised by Euroindex of Kiev and their German partners fairtrade, the 15th International Power and Electrical Engineering, Energy Efficiency and Industrial Automation Trade Fair took place at the KievExpoPlaza from April 12 to 15, 2011.
All majors again participated and group pavilions from China, Germany and Turkey showed a strong presence. Exhibitors presented their innovations in the fields of modern, efficient and sustainable infrastructure in power transmission and distribution, building and industrial automation, electro-technology and lighting technology.
Germany again has left a heavy footprint with an important presentation, sponsored by the German Ministry of Economics and Technology in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and supported by ZVEI - the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association.
Ukraine is back on its way up again as Ukrainian GDP went up by 4% in 2010 and experts forecast the same for 2011. According to ZVEI-the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, Ukrainian suppliers have increased their exports of electro-technology to Germany, for instance, by 26% in 2010, to now Euro 239 million. In the same period, German exports of electro-technology to Ukraine went up by 24%, to now Euro 594 million.
Major projects are on the way in Ukraine and elcomUkraine 2011 exhibitors profit from a massive investment program, including several billion Euro for the expansion of the electricity industry and major industrial and infrastructural projects.
elcomUkraine 2011 once again delivered as an excellent platform for decision-makers from all sectors of the Central and Eastern European industry, public institutions and the services industry to get in contact with cutting-edge solutions first, and to meet new suppliers. A major event bringing the two sides of supply and demand together for business. An integral part of elcomUkraine also was its action-packed program of professional conferences, presentations and seminars.
elcomUkraine has "earned the ‘UFI Approved Event' quality label as certification of the highest level of professional exhibition standards" (UFI The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).
Ukraine: Major investment projects.'
The Ukrainian market holds very interesting prospects, as underlined by Ubifrance for elcomUkraine:
1.With an amount of 193 TWH of electric power generation in 2008, Ukraine ranks 12th on a global scale. Because of aged technologies, the country offers plenty of business opportunities in the energy-efficiency sector in order to reduce power consumption, which for the time being is twice as high as in Germany.
2.The majority of the 28 Ukrainian power distributing enterprises as well as 1 out of 6 power generation suppliers have been successfully privatised.
3.International funds have been attributed and allow the sector to develop: US $ 200 million for the modernisation of sub-stations and the extension of the energy distribution network until the year 2012; and US $ 106 for the modernisation of production capacities.
4.The target to harmonise the Ukrainian energy network with the European UCTE-norms has been adopted within the "Energy Strategy 2030".
