Welcome to the inaugural AI4Mat Europe 2026'-'a landmark conference dedicated to advancing the frontier where artificial intelligence meets materials science and engineering. Why AI for Materials'-'and Why Now?
Materials research has long been at the heart of technological progress'-'from developing stronger alloys and smarter polymers to designing quantum materials and sustainable energy-storage solutions. Yet traditional approaches often involve laborious experimentation and computational modeling that can be slow, costly, and limited in scale.
Artificial Intelligence changes the game. By coupling data-driven methods with physical modeling, AI enables rapid prediction of material properties, inverse design of novel compounds, and autonomous discovery of materials that never existed before.
