The International Workshop on Railway Noise (IWRN) brings together leading researchers and engineers in all fields related to railway noise and vibration. The first IWRN was celebrated in Derby (UK) in 1976 and from then on, the workshop has been held regularly (every three years since 1995) contributing greatly to the increased understanding of many problems in railway noise and vibration.
Following the ethos of the workshop, the 15th IWRN will be held in a remote but accessible place. The chosen venue is Isla de la Toja (Illa da Toxa in Galician language), in the northwest corner of Spain, the region of Galicia. La Toja is a quiet and charming island, surrounded by the beautiful marine landscape of the well-known Galician "Rias Baixas".
