The hotel, restaurant and catering in Myanmar is experiencing an unprecedented boom as the country continues with its reform programme. Record number of businessmen and tourists has created a shortage of quality hotel rooms. As such, a number of international standards hotels are in the pipeline. Jones Lang LaSalle project a 36% growth in the number of new hotel rooms from 2012 to 2016. In the meantime, many hotels are undergoing refurbishing and upgrading spurred on by high room rates.
