The key topic of European Colorectal Congress (ECC) will be rectal cancer. Internationally renowned experts in colorectal surgery will present the management of rectal cancer and look at it from various angles. The aim is to show the importance of anatomy, pathology and modern diagnostics, such as MRI and PET, for strategic decision making when it comes to choosing the right therapy.
Experts will discuss with the plenum the importance of surgery, with regard to modern neoadjuvant therapy, for small or locally advanced carcinoma in the future. These innovative treatment approaches may also give rise to new challenges and strategies. Prevention and the treatment of complications, especially of anastomotic leaks, will, of course, be discussed.
