The International Geological Congress (IGC) is the premier conference for the advancement of global Earth Science. It takes place every four years in a major city, attracting > 6,000 geoscientists from across the globe - akin to hosting the Olympics for Earth Sciences. Canada is preparing to host the 38th IGC event in Calgary, in 2028, with a proposed theme "Geosciences for Humanity".
