The Southwest Association of Rail Shippers (SWARS) territory includes the Republic of Mexico and the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Southern California (from and including Fresno and points South thereof), Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
The objective of the association is to provide an open forum for railroads, shippers and others to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest. Topics include, but are not limited to, service, car supply, scheduling, operating practices, technology, etc. Conferences are held twice a year; in the spring and fall at varying locations'within SWARS' territory.
