The 3rd European Clean Ammonia Summit will take place on 22-23 April 2026 in Cologne, returning at a moment when the direction of Europe's clean ammonia market is becoming clearer - but no less complex. Following the second edition, the summit continues to provide a structured space for discussion across the full value chain, from hydrogen feedstock and ammonia production through to offtake, infrastructure, and investment.
The 2026 programme is built to reflect the real issues and opportunities most frequently raised by the industry: regulatory clarity, enforceable demand signals, project bankability, and the challenge of progressing projects to final investment decision. There will be a key focus on how RED III national implementation, FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, and emerging IMO guidance are shaping commercial models, certification requirements, and offtake negotiations. Attention will be given to the evolving balance between green and blue ammonia, and how differing policy interpretations are influencing investment decisions across Europe.
Discussions will also examine the practical realities of deployment, including carbon capture and low-carbon ammonia pathways, ammonia cracking and synthesis technologies, maritime engine development, bunkering readiness, and the constraints created by power pricing, logistics, and construction capacity. These themes build on conversations from the 2025 summit, which brought together organisations such as Hy2gen, North Ammonia, OCI, EnBW and Engie to exchange perspectives grounded in active projects.
The summit brings together developers, energy companies, fertiliser producers, ship owners, technology providers, policymakers, and investors to share experience, compare approaches, and consider how the market may evolve.
Those involved in shaping, financing, regulating, or deploying clean ammonia are invited to join the discussion in Cologne and contribute to a grounded exchange on where the sector is heading and what is required to move projects forward.
