It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2027 Pretreatment, Pollution Prevention, and Stormwater (P3S) Conference in Santa Rosa, California. This year's theme, Flowing Toward a Resilient Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Clean Water for All , reflects both the challenges we face today and the opportunities ahead.
Our profession is evolving rapidly. Emerging contaminants, aging infrastructure, population growth, climate impacts, and changing regulations continue to reshape how we protect our water resources. Meeting these challenges requires more than technical expertise - it calls for innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to protecting our water resources.
Innovation isn't always about groundbreaking technology. Sometimes it's discovering a better way to solve a recurring problem, learning from a colleague's experience, or building stronger partnerships with industry, regulators, and our communities. Those everyday improvements strengthen our programs and help create lasting results.
Throughout this conference, I encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with fellow professionals. The conversations you have, the ideas you exchange, and the relationships you build here are just as valuable as the technical knowledge you'll gain.
