The European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the Swedish Society of Pathology are delighted to invite you to the 38th European Congress of Pathology (ECP 2026), to be held at Stockholmsmassan, from 12 -16 September 2026, in the heart of Sweden's capital.
ECP?2026 will bring together more than 5,000 participants from all over the world - pathologists, clinicians, researchers, molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, medical scientists, and industry partners. The meeting will provide an ideal opportunity for professional development, networking, to exchange insights, and will demonstrate the commitment of the ESP to contributing to Pathology progress in the near future.
Sweden's medical heritage is deeply rooted in its institutions like the Karolinska Institute, home to the Nobel Assembly, and Radiumhemmet. Early staging efforts at Radiumhemmet are recognised as influential precursors of structured staging frameworks like FIGO and TNM. Today, Swedish molecular pathology is internationally respected for its integration of pathology, genomics, and precision oncology. Swedish institutions are key players in translational research, biomarker-driven treatment planning, and cutting-edge immuno-oncology studies
The motto of the congress - "Innovation Driving Excellence in Pathology" -acknowledges the significant improvement that pathology innovation has brought and continues to bring to diagnostics, assessment of prognosis and therapy response prediction and clinical practice. The excellent programme prepared by the ESP working groups, ESP-affiliated societies, education and trainee committees, and other collaborating societies will include keynote lectures, slide seminars, symposia, and interactive workshops, from internationally renowned speakers and leaders in their fields. There will be a special focus on digital pathology, AI integration, and emerging technologies that are transforming our field.
