Under the theme: "Drive the Change: Management in the Era of Digital Water & Transitions", this congress will explore how cutting-edge technologies, innovative policies, and sustainable strategies are reshaping water management in a rapidly changing world.
The event will bring together researchers, practitioners, engineers, policymakers, and students from around the globe to address the pressing challenges and opportunities of the digital and green transitions in the water sector.
The 42nd IAHR World Congress has the ambition to drive transitions in water sector based on three Thematic Priority Areas drawn by the IAHR 2024-2027 Strategic Plan. These TPAs are: Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Water for the Energy Transition, Food Security and Nature, and Improving Resilience against Water Hazards and Disasters. Digital Transformation is the fourth TPA. As cross-cutting priority, it is reshaping processes to boost efficiency in the water sector. Hydro-Environment Engineering, with its scientific and technical foundation, is pivotal to lead this evolution.
This Congress will be an opportunity to strengthen the interface between needs of society, public authorities and the private sector.
