The 18th Edition of the International Conference on Inorganic Membranes (ICIM) will be held in Montpellier, one of the most charming and dynamic cities in the south of France. You are cordially invited to participate in this 5-day event from June 29th to July 3rd, 2026.
The conference emphasizes both fundamental and applied research on inorganic membrane materials and processes, aiming to accelerate progress in their design, synthesis, advanced characterization, and modeling. It also highlights a large variety of applications in key areas such as gas separation, water purification, processing of chemicals, energy production, bio- and food-technologies as well as health and environmental protection.
The ICIM, founded in 1989 in Montpellier, France, by Prof. Louis Cot (ENSCM) and Dr. Jean Charpin (CEA), is a biennial event. It has been held in various locations across Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, and South America. With up to 350 participants, this conference brings together academia and industry to learn about the latest research and innovations in inorganic membranes, share ideas and best practices, and collaborate on future projects. It offers a unique multidisciplinary platform for researchers, engineers, students, industry professionals, and officials to discuss global societal challenges and the opportunities offered by inorganic membranes.
For the 2026 edition of ICIM, a full day symposium will be dedicated to inorganic membranes for hydrogen-related applications. The scientific program will be constructed in line with the main conference slogan "MEMBRANES TODAY & KEYS FOR THE FUTURE", aiming to stimulate networking opportunities and encourage the translation of research findings into practical solutions for real-world applications. A special session will feature industry pitches, showcasing innovations, challenges, and partnership opportunities.
