The SICT 2027 International Conference will bring together leading scientists, researchers, engineers, industrial experts, and innovators from around the world to advance the frontiers of surface, interface, and coating science and technology. At the intersection of fundamental science, advanced materials, engineering, and emerging technologies, SICT 2027 will provide a high-level international forum for presenting breakthrough research, sharing transformative ideas, and establishing new scientific and industrial collaborations.
As surfaces and interfaces increasingly govern the performance, durability, sustainability, and functionality of advanced materials and devices, their rational design and engineering have become critical to addressing major technological challenges. SICT 2027 will showcase the latest scientific advances in the understanding, design, processing, characterization, and application of next-generation surfaces and coatings, spanning length scales from molecular and nanoscale interfaces to complex engineered systems.
Following the success of SICT 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic, SICT 2027 will further strengthen its role as an international platform for frontier research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technological innovation in surfaces, interfaces, and coatings.
A particular emphasis will be placed on frontier and emerging research directions, including artificial intelligence and machine learning for materials discovery and process optimization, computational and inverse materials design, smart and adaptive surfaces, advanced nanostructured coatings, sustainable and circular surface technologies, and multifunctional interfaces. The conference will also highlight emerging applications in energy and electrification, hydrogen technologies, advanced electronics and photonics, aerospace and extreme environments, tribology, healthcare, and biomedical technologies.
SICT 2027 will foster a dynamic exchange between fundamental understanding and technological innovation, bringing together complementary perspectives from surface physics and chemistry, materials science, coating technology, nanoscience, computational science, engineering, and industrial research. Contributions addressing both scientific breakthroughs and pathways toward scalable, reliable, and sustainable technologies will be particularly encouraged.
Building on the international recognition and success of previous SICT editions, SICT 2027 aims to establish a leading platform for the global surfaces and coatings community, providing an environment in which emerging concepts can be challenged, established technologies can be reimagined, and new research partnerships can emerge.
