The 2026 Conference will assemble leading researchers to advance the understanding and applications of sol-gel science and technology. The conference will address a broad range of topics, including the fundamentals of sol-gel processing, the development of novel hybrid materials, nano- and micro-structured materials, and porous/hierarchical systems. The role of sol-gel materials in (photo)catalysis, membranes, energy and environmental applications will be highlighted, showcasing their importance in addressing issues of environmental and water sustainability. Discussions will extend to electronic, magnetic and ferroelectric applications, sensors, optics, pho-tonics and optoelectronics and their contributions to enhancing the sustainability of industry applications. The preservation of cultural heritage using sol-gel technologies will also be addressed.
