As the President of the International Gas Union (IGU), I sincerely invite you to the 29th World Gas Conference (WGC2025), which will happen from May 19 to 23 at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China.
Founded in 1931, IGU is the world's largest and most influential international organisation for the gas industry, dedicated to promoting gas as a key contributor to a sustainable energy future. The World Gas Conference (WGC) is the most important flagship event of IGU, hailed as the premier event of the global gas community. In 2017, I was elected as the President of IGU for the 2022-2025 triennium, becoming the first Chinese President and the first female President in IGU's history, and won the right for China to host the WGC2025.
For the first time in over 90 years, WGC is coming to Beijing. This event will draw attention of the whole world to China - the world's third largest gas consumer and the largest importer; and to Beijing - the city of Dual Olympics. The event will bring together national leaders, government officials, presidents and CEOs of large energy companies, international delegates, think tanks, scholars, etc. Exhibitors will cover almost all of the top 50 oil and gas companies in energy technology and the entire gas value chain; as well as leading new energy companies.
WGC2025 conference and exhibition will be held at the China National Convention Center. The conference features 100+ sessions including keynote, current debates, industry insights and the technical & innovation centre. There will also be special sessions featuring finance, digitalisation, women and the young leadership programme. WGC2025 is expected to attract more than 3,500 delegates from 70 countries, with an exhibition covering an area of 50,000 square meters (the largest in WGC's history), 360 exhibitors and 30,000 trade visitors.
WGC2025 will provide a multi-level and multi-dimensional platform for sharing the world's energy governance experience and best practices. We will present a top-notch "feast for idea flow", with the most forward-looking industry insights, the most authoritative forecasts, the best professionalism and the most influential brands.
