The World Hepatitis Summit (WHS) is a global conference to advance the viral hepatitis agenda and provide a platform to share ideas, experiences and best practices in addressing the many challenges of viral hepatitis.
It is the only conference of its size and scale focusing on the public health approach and the implementation of global and national policies. It is also unique in that it brings a truly diverse global delegate group together, reflecting that elimination will only be reached through multi-stakeholder responses.
The main target audiences for the summit are Ministers of Health, policy-makers, high level government officials, people living with viral hepatitis, hepatitis-related civil society groups, medical professionals, other relevant UN organizations, international development partners, global donors and the private sector.
With 70% of viral-hepatitis related deaths occurring globally in Asia, we believe it is critical we bring the Summit to Asia.
Thailand has shown great leadership and commitment in eliminating viral hepatitis and in other health areas, and in hosting the first WHS in Asia they continue this leadership.
Building on the legacies of previous summits, WHS 2026 will be an opportunity for the global community to come together and ensure we continue driving action. Coming just one year after the WHO interim 2025 targets, and with only four years until the 2030 elimination targets, the Summit will be a critical juncture to take stock of progress to date and reaffirm the steps required to achieve hepatitis elimination.
