The VILF Association of Coating Engineers (er Verband der Ingenieure des Lack- und Farbenfaches e.V.) was founded in 1956. In the early days, the members were graduated engineers coming from the main German paint schools, who were not represented by the relatively restricted German Chemists association. Still today most of the members are paint engineers, but also many chemists, paint technicians and even commercial employees have joined the VILF. In accordance with the statutes the main goal is to improve the technical knowledge of the members by various measures. Nowadays, more than 70 companies support the association as company members, and more than 800 employees of the German paint and coatings industry, raw material suppliers, universities and institutes are represented by the VILF. Mr. Ludger Küper is the director of the VILF Association and the president of its steering board. |
