The Expocorma fairground is located in the borough of Coronel, 18 kilometres from the city of Concepción, which has a population of nearly one million inhabitants. It has a temperate and moderately warm climate in November, which is the month in which the Fair is held. Region Eight, which has Concepción as its capital, is the centre of Chilean forest activities. This is where most of this activity is based, with forestry being the second most important item in the national economy in Chile. At present out forestry exports approximately 6,000 million dollars.
