Infectious diseases account for approximately half of all deaths in tropical areas of the world, impacting economic development and exacerbating global inequalities.
Since its inception in 1907 RSTMH has been dedicated to changing the face of global health through its network of Fellows across the world by facilitating training, education and the exchange of information.
We work at the cutting edge of the study, control and prevention of human and animal diseases worldwide, charting changing patterns and pioneering new interpretations of modern tropical medicine and global health. Now in the early decades of the 21st century, RSTMH exists in a world where health is core to foreign policy and development agendas, and when significant funding is available to address many global health problems.
Through the work and efforts of its 1,400 Fellows across the world, RSTMH is prepared to help tackle the global health challenges of the next 100 years. |
