Ibero-American Federation of Acoustics, FIA

The Ibero-American Federation of Acoustics (FIA) is a non-profit civil association, conceived in 1995 and legally established in 1996, with bylaws registered in Spain in 1997 and subsequently updated in 2012. Its members are the Acoustics Societies of the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Peru, Venezuela, and Uruguay.

Since 1998, the FIA has held a congress every two years, delegating the organization to one of its member societies.

In addition, the FIA is a member of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA) and an observer member of the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE).
